When Mother Nature is in full flow then Bayrischzell is extremely beautiful. The magnificent fields of flowers on the mountainsides and in the valleys offer a magically colourful display.



The Bavarian Alps between Bayrischzell and Oberammergau are an extraordinary and lovely mountain landscape filled with charming forests beautiful white alpen peaks and romantic lakes. This wonderful landscape invites every activity holidaymaker to wander along its trails. Beginners can hike along trails that explore the valley and more experienced walkers are able to use well sign-posted routes into the mountains.

Also for the cyclists, Bayrischzell has much to offer. Well-maintained routes through the beautiful valleys and forests or perhaps one of many uphill tours for the more experienced mountain biker. Along the way are plenty of restaurants and guesthouses.

With Nordic-Walking Bayrischzell is the ideal location for the complete body workout. Not only because of the fantastic trails in the area, but also while a “DSV-Nordic-Aktivzentrum” provides equipment not only for beginners but also the more experienced walkers.

Should it be too warm for physical activities then you could always visit the open-air pool “Alpenfreibad Bayrischzell”, which maintains a temperature of 26 degrees. On better days, the lakes in the area such as Schliersee, Tegernsee, Chiemsee or Thiersee offer the opportunity for the whole family to cool down. Bayrischzell also has several “Kneipp-cures” to walk through if desired.

Near to the “Alpenfreibad” are the Bayrischzell all weather day tennis courts. At the foot of the Seeberg, Bayrischzell has a mini-golf course. Fun for young and old.

So as to experience the beautiful mountain landscape from the air, you could take a flight in a glider or even go on a tandem parasailing or hand-glider trip. Bayrischzell is home of a hand-glider school and has a glider take-off/landing place at Geitau near Bayrischzell.

Bayrischzell also has several stables in the local area where lovers of horseback riding can enjoy themselves. Here can large and small beginners or experienced riders go on pony trails or take a lesson or two. Should this be too strenuous or you aren’t quite the horse lover then perhaps an excursion on a horse-drawn carriage through picturesque Bayrischzell.

If climbing in the mountains is perhaps a little too high, then in area of Bayrischzell is an adventure playground of sorts. At the “Hochseilgarten” (High-ropes garden) you can learn to climb under save conditions.

As you can see, due to its central location and many available activities, Bayrischzell is an ideal starting point for a relaxing or even a sporting holiday.
