Not only fans of the classic winter sports will enjoy Bayrischzell with its ski slopes and cross-country skiing trails, but also the not so ambitious can enjoy the beautiful white and blue Bavarian sky, pure air and powder snow.
A friendly familiar atmosphere awaits the skier in Bayrischzell. The spacious slopes of all difficulties dotted with friendly alpen cabins, which offer the regional specialities. Whether beginner or an experienced skier, Bayrischzell offers ski slopes for all tastes. Local ski school can bring you back in swing or teach beginners of all ages a new winter experience. In total Bayrischzell has 29 lifts and approx. 40 km of slopes and pistes are spread over the 3 areas of Sudelfeld, Wendelstein und Geitau.

Sudelfeld´s beautiful landscaping is ideal for winter sports and has been used things for over 100 years and with over 20 lifts, aprox. 30 km of slopes and modern snow cannons it is Germany’s longest skiing area. The slopes of Wendelstein offer a challenge for the most experienced skier and a fantastic panorama. Geitau has 2 lifts to its pretty practice slopes.

Tannerfeld, on the outskirts of Bayrischzell is the practice area for children but naturally an ideal place for adult beginners.

On the many well-tended country ski trails (total 96 km) any passionate skier can enjoy this wide network of trails through beautiful valleys and countryside’s.

So that the kids and the young at heart can also get their snowboard kicks, there are many exciting possibilities near the main slopes. A fun park on Sudelfeld offers snowboarders the chance to test their skills with rails, boxes and jumps. Due to this in January 2009 Sudelfeld held a race from the snowboard world cup and will become a regular host for the event.

A snow-tubing slope for Tannerfeld can be enjoyed by large and small. On a blown up inner-tube you can slide down the 300m run or hire a sledge and toboggan down.

For quieter activities, perhaps winter hiking with snowshoes. Bayrischzell has many well sign-posted walks through the snow covered forests and valleys. With perhaps a traditional “Glühwein” to cap things off.

On the edge of Bayrischzell on the Seeberg ice skaters can enjoy themselves on its ice rink. In addition (weather and ice thickness permitting) the local lakes also offer skating possibilities.

Fans of curling also have the opportunity to practice their sport in Bayrischzell.
